There are many of us who are selfish. We lack the self-awareness to see ourselves clearly, and don’t realize that much of what we think, feel and do is motivated by our own self-interests.
There are many of us who are selfless. We like the feeling of making a difference in someone else’s life. It enhances our well-being and makes us happy.
Then, there are those of us who rise to the occasion and go above and beyond selflessness. We are willing to make sacrifices for others. We might even choose to put our own lives at risk to save a stranger or an animal.
We can learn and practice to be selfless every day in all our relationships. Kindness, compassion, and generosity positively affect all of us, and will help make us happier and more fulfilled.
